You’re absolutely right about the cheap stuff! I bought a holster with a hook and loop strap at a gun show for $4 and when I stepped in a hole and fell out in the field, my 22A went flying out.

    aka Velcro!

When the inventor of “hook and loop” asked my grandfather and a bunch of his investor friends to invest in launching Velcro® they all laughed at him. It really seemed stupid at the time. Now he regrets it.

i didnt know what hook and loop was until now thanks for video. u always got some usefull vids thanks

They call it “hook & loop” because Velcro® is a trademark. If they aren’t using Velcro® brand fasteners, they can get sued for using the name (false use of trademark [or something like that]). Nice video!

I was at a friend’s house and he had strips of this 3M Dual Lock. It’s like a velcro but much stronger. With approx 2″ x 3/4″ strips stuck together, it took quite a bit of effort to pull them apart. Something like a 4×4″ square would probably even be too much.

Of course you would have to sew it in yourself, but an option if you want something stronger than velcro.

Sootch00. I just checked out the Max expedition site and was wondering if the Khaki or tan bag was the Active shooters bag. I couldn’t find the diplomats bag from LA Police Gear. This is the SKU #: MaxP-9834 at LA Police gear. It’s still made by Max Expedition. What is the sku number on the black bag that you have. it’s about the right size for what I need.

Yeah, the Maxpedition holster is the one that works best for me too. Don’t need a top strap, because, as you inferred, the top of the bag or compartment (when it’s zipped up) acts like a stopper that keeps the gun in place. It also doubles as a flashlight holder, if nosy-bodies ask what it’s for when you’re not packing (cross-border, etc). Thanks sootch, keep up the quality vids.
PS: I didn’t quite catch what you said after unloading that semi-auto…lol!

When I went into a local store to buy Gold they had hired an off duty police officer as undercover security who had that setup in his fanny pack…

It’s adorable when they try & be covert sometimes…

  22. drzmanproject says:

Nice job Sootch! It’s so fun looking for the bonus clip after the credits, lol.

  23. Breakneckhydra1 says:

@BLAYDZ99 Because under a magnifying glass, if you look at it, the rough side of Velcro are many small hooks, and the soft side is many small loops.

  24. bigginsyfz says:

@itachi1303 Velcro is a brand name. Hook is the sharp side & loop is the soft side of whoever is manufacturing the product. It’s kinda like asking for a kleenex. In most cases you are actually asking for a tissue, but unintentionally ask by the popular nationally renowned manufacturer’s name when you really don’t care who makes it as long as you can blow your nose with it.
