Totally great attitude you are showing and in the end that kit is totally up to it. Reminds me of that SAS guy with the cheap knife in one of the vids around YT.

@wildernessoutfitters Just wondering why the dislike of Gerber axes? My plattoon destroyed many, many, axes in Afghanistan cutting enough firewood to heat our buildings in the winter. we never ruined any of the Gerber axes we received.
I can see for long term, wanting a wooden handle that could be replaced if it is ever broken.

    I have a small request:

Is there any way you could make a video for people about making a bushcraft kit to take on an airplane>? (all legal) it would help me alot and some others, I think.

    thanks so much.

i have one of those little metal hatcets. its alright but the handle is quite uncomfortable so i pelled the rubber off and put a big length of duct tape on for a handle and now its comfortable to chop with.

  18. scottishbushcrafter says:

if you play electric guitar you can use the strings from them as snares:)

  19. enoughraptor6 says:

hatchet. large knives are good, but not enough forward weight. you can do it though. it really comes down to how you feel. i like hatchet, med to large knife, and a small carver. just my .02 though

  20. enoughraptor6 says:

why not just get a cheap sharpener, lighter, better. diamond not stone.

These items are on clearance today and were expected to sell for christmas this is why they are so cheap and you have many choices for many differnt kits.
