SS have not so much to do with death metal scene, its more hardcore/nu metal style: see the lyrics and the teen audience, nothing to do with traditionnal extreme metal bands.Its mainstream metal, not extreme metal, even it it have a big sound production..
And this is certainly not the evolution of death metal: The monolith deathcult, Origin, Gorod and Coprofago are the real new death metal.

@southernmisfit Idk, I’m probably like one in 3 million people who likes a bunch of old school/ underground metal, but still like Suicide Silence. To be honest I didn’t like these guys too much when I first heard em…first song I recall hearing by them was Blugeoned, but then I heard No time to Bleed…and I gained a new respect for them. I know some people probably just hear another generic Deathcore band in SS, but I hear a mix of a lot of stuff in them. but that’s just me.
@Xb0xH4rdc0r3 There are a lot of bands with suicide in their name, I honestly don’t know what makes “Suicide Silence” any different from the others. Hell, Metallica wrote an entire song on suicide and they’re not called emo? I dont ever recall hearing a Suicide Silence song about wrist cutting…

@southernmisfit Mitch doesn’t look emo. Maybe a *tad* scene(ish) but not emo. I don’t know why people have a tendency to call this band emo, they don’t write about relationships and that shit. in fact they’re pretty anti-emo if you think about it.
