piranha aren’t like sharks they don’t track their pray by senting blood in the water they track them by sensing vibration in the water(sharks too but oh well). But they will attack anything that moves next to them (except for other piranhas (and even there they can try to eat their buddies when they are really hungry)) So finger cut or not you will be eaten.

well longest is overall distance, as in to and from. As in a river is the longest distance wise. Where as largest means width and overall volume.
If you fall into piranha-infested water with a cut finger, you will be eaten.
